Chapin Beach Shorebirds Walk

Popular yet secluded beach with nice views of Sandy Neck Lighthouse and Grays Beach. Expect to see shorebirds, terns, and gulls gathering in numbers with the falling tide. The Beach looks to the north with endless mudflats--a shorebird buffet.

The star here is Forster’s Tern, somewhat of a regular at this location. This stunning tern is treated as a species of special concern in Massachusetts. We don't often get to see closer to Boston. Fingers crossed!

Protective footwear is recommended on this rocky beach. Not kidding.

A Parking fee is required before 5:30. Daily fees are cash only. No restrooms on-site.
