Learn how to knit small circumferences in the round using Magic Loop! In this hands-on class, Sarah Walworth will guide you through casting on and knitting with a long circular needle. You will come away with the beginning of a fingerless mitt and the skills to start a sock or any other small knitting! Fingerless mitts pattern is included in class fee.
Prerequisites: cast on, knit, purl, bind off
Materials: (not included in class fee)
about 150 yards of a smooth, worsted weight yarn (not too dark of a color!); the pattern calls for 1 skein Urth Uneek Worsted
US 6 circular needle at least 32" in length
your usual knitting kit (stitch marker, scissors, etc.)
something to take notes with
There is no homework.

Sarah first learned to knit as a child from her mom, but re-learned as an adult when she needed a way to keep her hands busy. It quickly cascaded into re-writing patterns to fit her, learning innovative techniques, and trying all different ways to tension the yarn. She now makes her living as a knitting technical editor and loves to pass on the craft to whomever she can get to hold needles and yarn for a few minutes.

If the minimum number of students have not signed up 3 days before the class, we will unfortunately have to cancel the class. We usually require a minimum number of students only for classes where the instructor has to travel some distance. If we have to cancel a class, you will be notified 3 days in advance and will be given a full refund.
Cancellation: There is a $2 cancellation fee. At least a 3-day notice is required for cancellation without additional charges. Cancellations with 24-72 hour notice are eligible for a 50% refund. Cancellations with less than 24 hour notice are not refundable.
