Short rows are not as tricky as you think! This class will guide you through the whys and hows of 4 different ways to short row. You will come away with a sampler of the techniques, detailed instructions, and the confidence and knowledge to use short rows in your next knitting project.
Prerequisites: cast on, knit, purl, bind off
Required Materials:
50 yards of a worsted smooth light-colored yarn
your favorite needles (we will be working flat) in US 7 or 8
pencil/pen
removable stitch markers
Homework: Cast on 20 stitches and work for a few rows in stockinette.
Minimum # students: 4
Instructor: Sarah Walworth
Sarah first learned to knit as a child from her mom, but re-learned as an adult when she needed a way to keep her hands busy. It quickly cascaded into re-writing patterns to fit her, learning innovative techniques, and trying all different ways to tension the yarn. She now makes her living as a knitting technical editor and loves to pass on the craft to whomever she can get to hold needles and yarn for a few minutes.
