DeKalb Mutual Aid announces a spectacular fundraising event for the DeKalb area trans community! Do you want to help your neighbors afford medicine, name changes, clothing, and contribute to their overall health and safety? Do you want to see some awesome performances from local talent? And do you want to buy cool merch from fantastic vendors? You can do all of these at the Trans Benefit: Spooky Shop and Show!
The Shop: purchase goods, services, art, baked goods, and more from trans-led orgs in the lobby of the Egyptian.
The Show: enjoy a wild variety show of local and regional talents! From drag to music to magic to comedy, all sorts of incredible talent on display!
The event will raise funds for local Trans people and help distribute across a range of needs. You'll be able to donate directly, or through purchase of tickets, bidding on amazing artwork and goods, helping match donations, and in raffles.
Don't have a lot of money to throw around? No worries! The event is definitely still seeking volunteers. Here are some of the ways you can help:
-Donating time to help setup and take down the event
-Using your talents to perform in the variety show
-Help plan the event
-Donate cool arts, goods, or services to auction for the fundraiser
-Donate baked goods or other sellable materials
-Contribute to getting the word out by sharing this event and telling your friends
