"An Iliad" Auditions - 2025 Creative Venture

This fall, New Minowa Players will present a story 3,000 years in the making.

AN ILIAD is a timely and gripping retelling of Homer’s epic tale, illuminating the human cost of conflict with breathtaking urgency. The Poet – the sole character in this one-person saga – recounts a tale of war, hubris, and destruction that spirals across millennia and crashes into our present day. The setting is simple: the empty theater. The time is now: the present moment. The lone figure onstage is a storyteller, possibly Homer, possibly one of the many bards who followed in his footsteps, is fated to tell this story throughout history.

The show is performed by a single actor. We are seeking to cast 2 individual actors to alternate performance nights.

Please note: All individuals age 18 & older are welcome to audition, regardless of gender identity/expression.

Auditions will be held:
Saturday, July 19, 1 - 3 p.m.
Sunday, July 20, 1 - 3 p.m.
at the NMP Theatre, 906 S Mill Street, Decorah.
