August the 17th Colson Fire Department will be hosting Floyd County Emergency and Rescue Squad for a full day of training related to Flooding and Moving Water. Every department is welcome to attend we will share more information as the date gets closer and details get lined out. This is a 8 hour class both classroom and hands on and participants will recieve a certificate certifying them as Moving Water/Flood Rescue Awareness.
Time-0900 to 1700
Location- Colson Volunteer Fire Department (9106 KY 7N 41858 WHITESBURG KY)
-No in water training for this particular event this teaches members how to safely operate from the bank and rescue victims, work as a part of a water rescue team and keep themselves safe
-Free of charge
-Most PPE required will be provided for this training program however please bring work gloves of some sort (Mechanix style or extrication gloves)
-No prerequisites required
-Open to all FD members, Rescue Squad members, SAR, EMS, Emergency Management and Law Enforcement.
-Class curriculum and instructors graciously provided free of charge by our friends with the Floyd County Emergency and Rescue Squad one of the best Water/Flood Rescue organizations in the state, training recognized through KYEM.
