Yin Yoga

Join Grounded instructor, Betty, for a Yin yoga session Sunday evening, February 22.

In Yin yoga practice, props are used to make poses more accessible or to deepen a pose, which are held for up to five minutes. The majority of Yin poses are performed on the floor. Yin yoga offers physical, mental, emotional, and energetic advantages, and for some practitioners, it also provides spiritual benefits.

"The essence of yin is yielding. Yang is about changing the world; yin accepts the world as it is. Neither is better than the other. There are indeed times when it is appropriate and even necessary to change the world; other times, it is best to just allow things to unfold. Part of the yin practice is learning this yielding."
