Neapolitan Pizza Class

In this class you will be guided in the fermentation and dough creation process and will go home with a ball of dough to cold proof for making pizza. Instructions will be shared as to how to shape, top and bake your pizza dough at home. The process will be demonstrated in class by Nathan and baked for all to sample the finished product.

Neapolitan pizza, also known as pizza Napoletana, is a round pizza originating in Naples, Italy.

It's characterized by a thin base that puffs up around the edges, creating an airy crust with dark charred spots. The pizza is made with simple, fresh ingredients like raw tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, olive oil, and a basic dough that's fermented for 12 hours to several days.

The history of the Neapolitan pizza dates back to the mid-19th century, when the Italian people migrated from the Naples area to the southern part of the United States. They brought with them their famous pizza, and it became a very popular dish throughout the country.
