Oct Dayton Contra Dance - Root Cellar and Beth Mast

Let the rhythms lift your feet and your spirits! Join us on first Fridays to dance, socialize, or just sit and listen to some of the best bands and callers in the region. No experience is necessary, all ages are welcome and you don’t need to bring a partner. The caller teaches all dances before they start.

This month we have
Root Cellar Old-Time String Band: "We play old-time music--that's a category not just a description. Mostly associated with the southern Appalachian mountains, it combines British and European musical heritage with various American adaptations, including African American sense of rhythm."

Caller Beth Mast: Her gentle and clear instructions will get you dancing like a pro in no time

$10 adults, $7 students with an I.D., children 12 and under free. Ask at the door about family pricing. First-time dancers get a coupon for a free return visit
