Thank you for your interest in auditioning for Dayton Drunk Theater's 2025-2026 season!
TLDR; sign up to audition via sign-up genius; get ready to be foolish & hopefully get cast in our three shows for the season
Our troupe members for the season will be committing to three shows--Dracula (October), Pride & Prejudice (February), and Much Ado About Nothing (June)--including one rehearsal for each show, 1-2 performances per show, and get-to-know-you/troupe bonding sessions (typically optional, but very helpful). Tentative dates for Dracula are: Friday, October 10th (evening performance), either Sunday, October 5th or 19th (for a brunch performance), and either Sunday, September 21st or 28th (for rehearsal).

Auditions will consist of improv games and reading from the three shows we're doing this season (Dracula, Pride & Prejudice, and Much Ado About Nothing). The readings will be DDT-style, so expect us to New Choice you, ask you to do different accents, perform as though you're in other locations, and generally ad-lib as you feel necessary.
Feel free to familiarize yourself with the scenes we'll be doing during the audition. Do NOT memorize them, as we do not memorize lines for the shows. The sides can be found here:

We will have a panel consisting of our founder, assistant producers, advisory board members, and former troupe members. We will also be inviting members of the public to watch the auditions to provide an audience member's perspective AND to make sure there are folks to laugh at your awesome performances!
