Following the overwhelming response to our Summer Garden and Residence Tour, we are elated to offer our Spring Garden and Residence Tour dates. Your exclusive guides for the day will be the owners of Wombat Park Estate, accompanied by horticultural experts; Paul Vandenberg, a renowned garden designer, director of Landscape Discoveries one of Melbourne's leading horticulturists, and David Howard a passionate nurseryman and owner of Bay Road Nursery , widely regarded as one of Melbourne’s finest nurseries.

The experience will conclude with a luxurious morning or afternoon tea beneath the grand arbour on the north lawn, where you can indulge in a selection of homemade treats, served on Bridget Bodenham's handmade crockery and complemented by tea, coffee, and Prosecco – making for a truly unforgettable and indulgent experience.

All guests will receive a rare botanical perfume oil, distilled from the old garden at Wombat Park, made by Enki Apothecary.

About Wombat Park Estate

Founded in 1854 by William Standbridge, Wombat Park Estate is renowned for its majestic ancient trees and the seamless integration of modern garden design principles, making it a truly unique destination.

Wombat Park Estate’s garden described as 'pure romance', first planted in the early 1850s and continuously developed throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries, is of State significance. A splendid residence, designed by the celebrated Melbourne architect Rodney Alsop, was erected c.1910-12.

It is glorious; not only for the handsome Arts and Crafts home which is the centrepiece of the garden, but for the extraordinary selection of trees furnishing the exquisite tapestry of garden rooms. Each season delights the senses with constant changes to foliage colour. The dramatic framework of clipped hedges, sweeping lawns and towering evergreens provide form and function. Sheltered garden rooms and hidden spaces are the essence of this magical garden.

This is a garden of magnificent conifers and deciduous trees, mostly planted 170 years ago, and certainly worth a trip into the Victorian countryside.
