For those that don’t know this is volleyball inside of a racquetball court. There are special rules and we can explain to any newcomers (rules are also listed below as well as a fantastic instructional video). We will meet just after the reception desk. It is $5 to play payable at the desk. Just tell the staff at the front desk you are there for wallyball. As always everyone in the group is more than welcome to join us! There is no limit to this event as they have plenty of courts so the more the better.
Rules of Wallyball:
Players are not allowed to hold the ball, lift it, catch, scoop it or carry the ball and will be called a fault if they do so.
Players should not touch any part of the net whilst the ball is in play. Do so and it shall be called a fault.
All games of Wallyball are played on the basis of the first team to 21 points and is two points ahead is declared the winner.
All matches shall consist of the best two of three games.
Each team will be comprised of two, three or four players.
The ball shall be called out of bounds whenever it hits the opposition’s back wall or the ceiling.
Any ball that touches or rebounds off the net may be played again.
When playing the ball, each team are allowed up to three touches before playing the ball over the net into the opposition's half.
The defending team may block the ball when the ball is served by the opposition or they spike the ball or have made three contacts with the ball.
