Reiki Shoden (First Degree)-In-Person or Online

Reiki is a gentle and powerful balm for the mind, body and energy, and integration of the three. Stepping into the practice of Reiki for one's self and others puts this healing balm in your hands at any time, and for your whole lifetime. It can, if you choose to follow it further, open up pathways to deeper levels of spiritual exploration.

In this Shoden Reiki 1 (first degree) training, taught from the perspective of it’s Japanese origins, you will receive all that you need to develop a vibrant and fulfilling Reiki practice. It provides a direct experience to begin unraveling the mystery of your own True Self, to remember your inherent wholeness. This class will be deeply experiential, intuitive and embodiment-based. You will emerge from it as a certified Reiki I Practitioner.

In this training you'll receive:

• Engagement with all five elements of the system of Reiki, so that you can feel rooted, spacious, and connected in your daily life.
• Hands-on, embodiment-based experiences of sensing and engaging energy.
• Intimate experience of Reiki self-treatments in a deeply relaxing meditative practice.
• The initiations, trainings and hands-on practice for offering full Reiki treatments to others. Grounding in the principles and practice of Reiki.
• A community of dedicated teachers, learners and practitioners.
• Exploration of the double-cloaked history of Reiki, its fascinating, unlikely pathway to the West, and its relevance to a vibrant modern Reiki practice.
• Certification as a Reiki I Practitioner.

After training, students receive these on-going opportunities:

• Monthly Practitioner Group: Gatherings that support your personal practice, and service opportunities to bring Reiki to the larger community.
• Re-immersion (review trainings): Students are always welcome to review a training when space in the class permits, and deepen their experience. Re-immersions are offered on an optional donation basis. Donations are added to our scholarship fund.
• Treatments: All students are offered one free Reiki session with Michaela upon completion of the class. Additionally, when class size permits, students may attend the treatment portion of a class and give/receive sessions at no charge.

SCHEDULE: 8-Week Class

We will meet for 8 weeks, 2.5 hours each session, on Sundays from 9 - 11:30pm Pacific Time (USA). This structure offers spaciousness to your learning, with practice time in between each class in order to slowly integrate the layers of material.

FORMAT: Hybrid IN-PERSON & ON-LINE class

Offering the flexibility to participate from outside of HeartScapes area, or in person at the studio. We have developed a teaching format to accommodate both (a little gift of the pandemic, which pushed us to get creative on how we deliver classes)

NOTE For those planning to attend on-line:

In Shoden, Reiki I, you will learn practices for sharing Reiki with other people through touch. You will therefore need another person with you to practice on during that portion of the class. The best way to do that? Invite a friend to take the class with you! Having a learning and accountability buddy is an excellent way to make the most of the class, and have a built in practice partner. And when you register with a friend, you both receive a $20 discount. See below for details. If having another person physically present will be a challenge for you, please reach out and we can discuss alternatives.

LOOKING FOR A DEEPER DIVE? This class can be taken stand-alone, or as the first step in our ! This program provides a deep and spacious container in which to experience all three levels of Reiki, supported through 1:1 sessions, special topics classes and group experiences.

Intrigued by the invitation into this year-long deep-dive, but not yet ready to commit? You’re welcome to take this Shoden class stand-alone, and you’ll have until the end of the 8-week class to decide. If you decide to jump on the caravan with us for the year, the cost of Shoden will be deducted from the program tuition.
