2025 WV AAP Children’s Healthcare Summit at Canaan

This two-day seminar will provide the pediatric provider with information about relevant up-to-date topics in pediatrics. Registration includes course materials, CME credit, lunch, break, reception and dinner on Friday, and breakfast on Saturday. Reservations for the reception and dinner for spouses/guests can be made for $45/person.

The focus of this year’s Summit will be on the powerful connection between literacy and children’s health. Through engaging sessions, expert speakers, and collaborative discussions, we’ll share innovative strategies and resources to empower children and families and to foster healthier, more literate communities in West Virginia.

Additionally, there will be a free pre-conference workshop on Friday morning. In this workshop, participants will explore the crucial role of language in promoting mental health literacy within pediatric practices. Clear, compassionate communication is essential for helping families understand and navigate children's emotional and mental well-being. This session will provide practical strategies for pediatricians to incorporate health literacy principles into their everyday interactions with parents and caregivers.
