Cultivating Food and Biodiversity: Edible Gardens, Pollinators, and Tech Tools

The Flamingo Gardens Garden Club meets the first Wednesday of the month, bringing together gardening enthusiasts to learn about local gardening techniques and sustainable practices.

The next meeting will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2025. Meet & Greet begins at 6:30pm in the Flamingo Gardens' Mary N. Porter Learning Center and the meeting portion starts at 7pm. Jeannie Schmidle, UF/IFAS Master Gardener and UF/IFAS Demonstration Vegetable Garden lead, will be speaking about the general concept of how to start and how these topics are a factor of growing food.

Jeannie is a UF/IFAS Master Gardener Volunteer since 2018, and leads the Demonstration Vegetable Garden, where she shares her love of growing food. She has received the 2024 Emerald Award – Residential, for Outstanding Residential Landscape for the State of Florida, and the 2022 Silver Recognition from the Florida-Friendly Landscaping Program.
