BSO One-Day Detention Deputy Accelerated Recruitment Event

Ready to start a rewarding and impactful career with the Broward Sheriff’s Office? Join us for a one-day, fast-track recruitment event designed specifically for individuals interested in becoming a Detention Deputy with one of the nation’s largest and most progressive public safety agencies.

This is a hands-on, accelerated hiring event where eligible candidates can complete multiple key steps in the application process—all in a single day.

• Physical Agility Test (PAT) – All participants must be prepared to take the required PAT. Certified/certifiable officers may qualify for a modified PAT.
• Onsite Physical Exam – A free physical exam (required before the PAT) will be provided onsite by Concentra. No outside appointment necessary.
• CJBAT Testing – Limited CJBAT slots available on site. You may also bring proof of a passing CJBAT score if taken in advance.
• Meet with BSO Human Resources – Get answers to your questions and submit your application the same day if eligible.

Space is limited to 100 participants – early registration is strongly encouraged!

• Dress for physical activity – You will be participating in the PAT.
• Bring a valid government-issued photo ID – No exceptions.
• Onsite CJBAT is limited – Consider completing the test beforehand. Pearson VUE registration info will be provided upon sign-up.
• Pre-registration on Eventbrite is required – No walk-ins will be accepted.
• This is not a job fair – This is a working recruitment event for serious candidates ready to move forward in the hiring process.

The Criminal Justice Basic Abilities Test (CJBAT) is required for Detention Deputy applicants. If you do not already have a valid passing score, you may complete it during the event if slots are available.

In case of inclement weather, alternate dates have been secured. Final decisions about weather-related cancellations will be made by Broward College.
