Welcome to Waiting For Cathay, a Warhammer Old World event!
The event will take place at Battlefield Hobbies in Daventry, on Saturday 23rd August 2025.
All players will get 3 games of Warhammer Old World at 2000 points. Legacy army lists are welcome (and we will be using the Square Based Renegades pack), as are Arcane Journal lists.
There are 24 places available. Tickets will cost £15.00 each, payable via PayPal to

Refunds will be available up to 2 weeks before the event. After that, a refund is only possible if another player can be found to take the spot.
List lock is 9am on Saturday 16th August.
Note: We've all seen that Games Workshop announced a new Old World Matched Play pack. If this is released in time, we will be making use of it in some form, and release an updated pack at least 3 weeks before the event. If you're not comfortable with the updated pack - it would potentially change game modes and army list composition, but not painting restrictions or which army lists you're allowed to use - then you will be entitled to a refund if you let me know promptly.

Models do not have to be painted, but they do have to be fully assembled. 3D printed and proxy models are permitted, but it must be clear what they're representing. Players are advised to check with the TO if in doubt, and are reminded that no model can be used to represent a different model without conversion work.
There are some restrictions on army lists in the interests of having fun, interactive games:
- Armies can only have 4 of the same Core choice, 3 of the same Special choice, and 2 of the same Rare choice.
- Individual characters can cost a maximum of 400 points.
