Glassblowing Cabrillo Arts Extension Class

Welcome to the Cabrillo Arts Extension Class hosted by Chris Johnson Glass!

We are offering two creative art glassblowing classes with Chris Johnson Glass - Studio Zayante. Get ready to unleash your artistic side and learn new skills in a relaxed and friendly environment. These in-person classes will take place in spring 2025 and are open to both studnets and the general public!

1. Introduction to Hot Glass, 3/22-4/26 from 4pm-6pm: is a weekly saturday class that will teach you fundamental skills and you will create solid form paperweights, hearts, and spheres. These skills will provide the foundation after which you are introduced to the beautiful fluid movements and basic techniques for creating simple blown vessels. Sign up now!

1. Glass Blowing Retreat, 5/16-5/18 from 1pm-4pm: a three day retreat to explore the history and science of this ancient craft, as well as hands-on studio sessions. Select and apply colors, stretch and shape molten glass, and discover just what glass can do! You will work one-on-one with Chris, and have time to complete 6 to 10 finished pieces. Sign up now!
