We’ll also explore the Conductor’s relationship with ensemble, audience, story:
Connecting with and supporting audiences to share their stories
Interviewing the teller and launching stories for enactment
Moving the audience through the arc of a performance
Michael Pooley has been a member of Sydney Playback Theatre for most of the past 22 years as actor, conductor, trainer and co-artistic director. He first met 'Playback' at the Drama Action Centre in Sydney in 1985 and went on to train with the founders in the US and Australia. He has performed and trained internationally in India, Canada and beyond. He is also the current Oceania representative to the International Playback Theatre Network. Michael last visited Darwin in March 2023 performing in the ‘Voices’ show hosted by Darwin Playback at Nightcliff Uniting. He worked for many years as a facilitator in professional development in government and higher education roles.
