Soft Sculpture Workshop with Yarrenyty Arltere Artists | Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair Masterclass 2025
Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair (DAAF) warmly invites you to explore our series of Masterclass events as part of the 2025 Public Program. Learn from the masters and be guided and inspired by DAAF’s incredible artists and makers as they share their stories and knowledge of both ancient and contemporary techniques - and take home your own piece from the Fair!
Join Rhonda Sharpe, Dulcie Sharpe and Vanessa Splinter from Yarrenyty Arltere Artists for a hands-on Soft Sculpture Workshop! With all materials provided, participants will work with upcycled materials and stitching techniques, guided in creating their own soft sculpture to take home.
DAAF’s Public Program Masterclasses have been developed with both artist and participant experiences in mind. Masterclasses have a three hour time slot allocated so that participants can feel comfortable and grasp new techniques with confidence. Participant numbers are also capped to ensure an intimate experience.

Meet the Art Centre: Yarrenyty Arltere Artists is about family and community. Is it about celebrating the innovation, creativity and diversity of Yarrenyty Arltere Town Camp artists. It is about having a localised art program that is open to all Yarrenyty Arltere Town Camp community members. This vibrant dynamic Art Centre located in the heart of Alice Springs in the Larapinta Valley Town Camp is all about the people that work there daily, their families, their community, their culture. It is about a great future in which the Yarrenyty Arltere Artists are directing for themselves!
