Join a unique opportunity to learn from the incredible artists of Bábbarra Women’s Centre as they bring the art centre to you.
Bábbarra Women’s Centre represents over 50 women artists and is located 500km East of Darwin in Arnhem Land. Established in 1987, Bábbarra operates under the First Nations-owned Bawinanga Homelands Aboriginal Corporation. Bábbarra specialises in the production of Linoleum print and screen print textiles that carry unique designs representing aspects of the artists life including traditional food, country, djang (creation stories) and totems.
In this two hour workshop with some of the women artists from Bábbarra you will have be learn some of the beginnings of this art form. Your facilitators will guide you through the process of designing and carving your own linocut and printing it onto a tote bag.
