We warmly invite you to gather at Windsurfers Corner — the very place where Paul and Nico exchanged their vows — to honour Nico’s wish to have her ashes scattered as a new day dawns. Together, we will celebrate the extraordinary love, life, and laughter she brought into all of our hearts.
Nico asked for her ashes to be released during a beautiful Darwin sunrise, embracing the light just as she always did. Sunrise is at 7.09am, and we would love for you to join us as we farewell her in the way she wished.
Nico’s courage was as fierce as it was gentle. Diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer more than eight years ago, she defied every grim prediction to build more precious memories — marrying her beloved Paul, witnessing her sons Kaya and Zion grow, marry, and bring three wonderful grandchildren into her world: Dominic, Salena, and Samson. Her fight was long, her spirit was mighty, and her love was endless.
