This introductory workshop is designed for participants with little to no experience using AI. It aims to build a foundational understanding of what AI is, how it works, and how it
can be practically applied in small business settings. Recognising that this audience may be skeptical—often viewing AI as “cheating” or as a threat—time will be dedicated
to elevating concerns, discussing common fears, and demystifying the role of AI in ethical and responsible business practice.
Through demonstrations and guided hands-on activities, participants will explore simple and non-intimidating ways to use AI tools. The workshop is designed to encourage
curiosity, reduce resistance, and open the door to possibilities that AI can offer even the smallest businesses.

● What is AI? An easy-to-understand explanation
● Understanding generative AI (what’s right for their business)
● Addressing fears, myths, and misunderstandings about AI
● Tips and tricks to get started with confidence
● Common pitfalls and how to avoid them
● Everyday uses of AI for small business
● Demonstrations of practical tools
● Hands-on activities using the tools
This workshops are part of the NT Government’s Flexible Skills and Training Response Program, aimed at building business capability, supporting digital transformation, and boosting economic resilience across the Territory.
