Weavers Uprising Guided Walk 4 - Tockholes to Chorley

DAY 4 of the Weavers Uprising
In Collaboration with Chorley Ramblers and Chorley Historical and Archaeological Society

[As this is a linear walk, people will probably need to park near Lock and Quay and then arrange transport to Tockholes - We have booked a coach to Tockholes at 9.15am- please let us know in advance if you would like a seat - there will be a £5 cost for a place].

10am Depart Tockholes Village Hall

11.45 am Walkers arrive at the rear of Brinscall Baths

Noon-12.15pm Sid Calderbank’s songs of the Handloom Weavers

12.15pm John Harrison will talk about the events of that day in 1826

12.30pm More songs from Sid Calderbank

12.45pm Walkers depart Brinscall.

3pm (Approx) Walkers arrive at the Lock and Quay, Botany Bay.

This walk will cover the full walk from Tockholes to Chorley on Day 4 of the Lancashire Rising

The distance is approximately 7.1 miles

This walk will incorporate the gathering at Brinscall at 12.00 with a talk by John Harrison and singing by the famous dialect artist Sid Calderbank.
