Mix Wave presents the debut venue festival featuring a high energy five band lineup.
Opening the Forum stage are newcomers, The Aniseed Lounge, making their venue debut for a set filled with rockstar energy, with tunes from the last few decades. Following on from the introduction of their new lead singer, Will Metcalfe, and lead guitarist, Callum Tresidder, they are set to take the stage by storm with the original lineup of legendary sax man, Marley Allen, slick bass lines of Russ Smith and groovy beats of drummer, Ned Michelin. Make sure to come down early as this set is not one to miss.
Leading on from The Aniseed Lounge is the mighty Cavello, having recently played Munro Festival in Stockton with a star-studded lineup, their debut single ‘Make or Break’ set the crowd alight, with the dynamic vocals of frontman Ash Keen and stylish tones of the band. As another band set to debut at the venue, they are raring to go and a put on a show. Cavello is a highly promising upcoming band with their debut single featuring on BBC introducing North East in recent months. Their highly anticipated new single, Ease my Mind, releases this July and is set to be another banger of a track putting them on the map even more.
With a debut EP ‘Taboo’ already released and their release of a new single, Between Lines, the next band of the event has more than one track to swipe your feet away. The Primaveras are set to ignite the Forum’s stage with jagged guitar and lyrical genius that will blow your mind. Drawing influence from iconic bands such as The Jam, The Clash and Fontaines DC the band enjoy an explosive show with thrills and chills throughout from raw energy to their gritty lyricism of youth, frustration and identity. The Sunderland lads are ready for a party and with restless cathartic bangers which drew the attention from the likes of BBC Introducing North East. These lads are ones to watch out for.
Having established themselves for their renowned electrifying sound and energetic live shows, The Avelons take our stage as one of the North East’s most exciting indie rock bands. From featuring countless times on BBC Introducing to supporting the likes of The Clause and The Lilacs this band brings the Northern charm, infectious melodies and slick guitar solos. It’s no surprise following the release of their debut EP, the Gallows, and their new single, Follow, they are drawing praise from major brands in the industry from Radio X to This Feeling these lads know no bounds other than how to put on a unforgetable show. These lads are one to watch as they are rapidly becoming a defining force in the UK’s guitar-driven resurgence.
Since forming 2 years ago Jam Tub have quickly made an astounding name for themselves in the music scene with their unfiltered mix of indie rock and punk energy. The three piece consisting of: Michael Scott on vocals and guitar, Fergus Hamill on drums, and Freddie Dobby on vocals and bass; have shown their class and gained support slots for the likes of bands such as The Sherlocks and Hot Wax. The band have continuously performed with release of tune after tune with raw and energtic tones they make a fitting headliner for our festival. With their new single, Hostility and Handshakes, released just a few months ago the band have set the tone for a high energy and electric atmosphere in our headline slot you wouldn’t want to miss it.
