Letterpress Communications and the Dan River Nonprofit Network are hosting a four-session in-person marketing workshop series!
This course is designed for nonprofit staff, board members, and volunteers who want to strengthen their marketing skills—especially using Canva, a powerful and accessible design tool. Whether you’re new to marketing or looking to refine your digital communications strategy, this hands-on series will equip you to build strong visuals and messaging that elevate your mission.
Workshop Schedule (all sessions held from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM):
Session 1: July 17, Foundation, Messaging & Communications Planning: Understand your organization’s brand and how to set up for success in Canva.
Session 2: July 31, Design Basics: Learn core design principles and how to apply them when creating in Canva.
Session 3: August 14, Digital Channels & Visual Branding: Take a deep dive into key social media channels and how to design branded graphics that stand out.
Session 4: August 28, Measuring Success & Paid Advertising: Learn how to plan for success, develop a paid advertising strategy, and use Canva to create polished ad content.
Location: 512 Bridge St., Danville, VA 24541 (Averett University Riverview Campus Conference Room)

Throughout the course, participants will complete a Brand and Messaging Guide in Canva as ongoing homework—building a valuable toolkit to take back to your organization.
Registration Fee:
Your registration includes access to all four sessions. Light refreshments will be provided.
