Dan Goldbacher is the Executive Director of the Orange County Bird of Prey Center (OCBPC), where he leads efforts to rehabilitate and release injured and orphaned raptors, while expanding educational programs that inspire environmental stewardship. Prior to joining OCBPC, Dan spent several years at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point, where he worked to connect students and the public to marine science and local ecosystems.
Join us as Dan presents Birds of Prey and Oceans, a discussion of the vital connection between coastal ecosystems and raptor populations. Many birds of prey, including ospreys and bald eagles, depend on healthy ocean environments for food and survival. These apex predators serve as indicators of environmental health, revealing the impacts of pollution, habitat loss, and declining fish populations. By understanding how raptors rely on marine and coastal habitats, we gain insight into the interconnectedness of ocean conservation and wildlife protection, and why safeguarding both is essential for the future of our ecosystems.
This is a FREE event; however, there is a suggested donation of $10 to benefit OCBPC
Food and drink are available for purchase and highly encouraged to support the venue; however, payment is the responsibility of the attendee.
