Welcome to the fourth event on the UBM calendar!
If this is your first time joining us for an event, here’s why we do them:
You’re probably on this page because you want to become the healthy, confident, and strong role model for yourself and those around you.
Getting in shape, and learning how to train our bodies and eat healthily is an important part of the puzzle, but it’s not the only thing we need to work on to be the men we want to be.
All great men have the courage to walk into the unknown, to take action on things that they cannot be certain will work in pursuit of their ultimate goals. All great men cultivate a deep sense of self-confidence; that no matter what stands between them and their goal, they will be able to overcome it, and we only develop this from betting on ourselves and taking on those challenges.
Every challenge we complete is going to test our character. It’s going to force us to do something new. It’s going to push us to walk into the unknown. And every time we commit to doing that we take a big step closer to becoming the man we truly want to be.
BUT WHY MOUNTAIN BIKING?
Because mountain biking is an activity that forces us to think and live totally in the moment.
When you’re slogging it up a hill that’s all you’re thinking about.
When you’re controlling your speed down a twisty descent your entire attention is focussed on that singular act.
WE ALL MISS OUT on so many great moments we could have on a weekly and even daily basis with the people who matter to us in our lives because we don’t practice the habit of being 100% present in the moment.
We’re all so busy, and our thought’s are constantly on the things we have experienced recently (typically the things that pissed us off) or the things that we have to do in the future, that we’re rarely just focussed on where we are and what we’re doing right now.
I think developing the skill of being completely focused in the moment by shutting out all outside noise and distractions will not only make us more productive and more successful, but will generally enrich our lives.
So here you are, looking at another opportunity to work on being the best man you can be. Will you take action?
