Live History: Crossness 1865

As part of our 160th Anniversary celebrations we present an immersive detective adventure:
It’s 1865, and London’s brand-new sewage system is about to be unveiled—but something is amiss at Crossness Pumping Station. A mystery is unfolding, and only you can uncover the truth!
Join us throughout the day for an immersive detective adventure - perfect for families, history enthusiasts and curious minds of all ages - solving puzzles and uncovering secrets as you explore this extraordinary site. Along the way, you’ll encounter costumed characters and learn about key historical figures, including the legendary engineer Joseph Bazalgette and even the Prince of Wales.
Our vintage Routemaster shuttle bus will be running from Abbey Wood Station and our narrow-gauge railway will also be running.

You can explore the site at your leisure, before and after solving the mystery and our cafe and shop will also be open.
