11:30 AM - MEET in front of the Acsension Mausoleum (Northern part of park near Denni St & Cypress Dr)
11:40 AM until 2:00 PM - SKETCH & Picnic. Food trucks will be on site if you’d like to enjoy a hot snack as you take a break!
2:00 PM - RECONVENE for our sketchbook throwdown to share our work, meet your fellow urban sketchers, hear announcements and take a group photo. (Location TBD day-of)

PARKING: FREE. This popular community event is expected to be bustling with excitement, so parking in the front lot by is expected to fill up quickly. Free parking will be available on the private roads throughout the park. Please be prepared to move your vehicle and/or walk to various areas of the park.
ABOUT THE LOCATION:
Forest Lawn Cypress Memorial Park features graceful views and towering trees. The Heritage Mausoleum in the Northeast corner of the property is built in an Early Federal Style of architecture, featuring a striking red brick exterior. There are statues throughout the park, including a bronze reproduction of Michelangelo’s “David” in the Garden of Protection, which make for excellent value studies in a beautiful, peaceful setting.

Forest Lawn’s hosted community event starts at Noon and ends at 3 PM, featuring colorful altars, larger-than-life catrina and alebrije art works, folklorico dance and Mariachi performances, arts & crafts, face painting, and refreshments.
BRING:
Provided seating is reserved only for guests visiting their loved ones, so please bring your own stool or folding chair. Please be prepared to walk; select shoes, supplies and gear that will allow you to walk and sketch comfortably, perhaps even while standing.
We welcome artists of all skill levels, whether you're a seasoned artist or just starting to explore your creativity! If you’re new to sketching, your equipment can be as simple as a pencil and a sketchbook.
