Luja Murfi is a seven-piece ensemble from the lush hinterlands of South-East Queensland and Northern New South Wales, creating an expansive and evocative sonic voyage, with the intention to evoke, radiate and alleviate. The band emanate an amalgamation of hypnotic jam sections, power-infused melodies, alluring grooves and enchanting vocal harmonies.
Formed in 2020, this fellowship consists of brothers Luke & Miles Morel (Vocals, Guitars, Synth), Jax Fostagic (Bass), Luke ‘Fish’ Johnson (Drums), Nathan Roberts (Keys), Kyle Aubrey (Percussion) & Mikey Seeff (Clarinet/Sax). Over the years they’ve developed into a tightly-knit group known for their raw energy, experimental instrumentation, and distinctive approach to songwriting.
Their debut album, Projections, released on April 3rd , 2025, is a testament to their evolution,with a sound that blends musical elements of psychedelic rock, jazz, and funk. Each track on Projections is a sonic tapestry, weaving together intricate melodies and rhythms that invite listeners into a world of introspection and wonder.
Their lyrics often delve into themes of time, connection, and the unseen forces that shape our lives, echoing the timeless tales of fantasy and adventure, their work is imbued with a sense of wonder and reverence for the mysteries of the universe.
