Join us along Currumbin Creek for an exciting adventure into the world of megabats! In this fun and educational program, kids will visit a real bat colony, learn fascinating facts about these incredible flying mammals, and explore the vital role they play in our ecosystems — especially as urban wildlife.
We have a special guest from Bats Queensland joining us at this program. These bat experts will share their real-life experiences rescuing and rehabilitating injured bats and their expertise on why and how we can protect these magnificent and important animals!
Through guided exploration and creative activities, children will:
🌳 See megabats up close in their natural habitat
🌺 Learn how bats help pollinate plants and spread seeds
🏙️ Understand their role in keeping urban ecosystems healthy
🎨 Create their own bat-inspired artwork to take home
Perfect for ages 6–12, this program blends nature, science, and creativity into one marvellous experience!

Thanks to their support, children are given the opportunity to explore, learn, and build meaningful connections with our unique and biodiversity-rich environment!
To ensure all places are used and to give children on the waitlist a fair chance to attend, a refundable booking fee of $10 applies to all bookings.
Your fee will be fully refunded when your child attends the program or if you cancel at least 48 hours in advance.
This system helps us make the most of the generous support from the Neumann Benevolent Foundation, ensuring more children have the opportunity to participate and benefit from the program.
