Scottish Heritage Day at Moores Creek

Join us for our bi-annual Scottish Heritage Day at Moores Creek National Battlefield. We will have volunteers and staff demonstrating a variety of trades and crafts including candle making, Scottish cooking, colonial toys and games, guest speakers, bagpipe music and a lot more! All of the colonial trades will be ongoing from 10 am to 3 pm, but here is a schedule of guest speakers and performers.

11 am - Dr. Kimberly Sherman will give a presentation on the Highland Scots in North Carolina in the Visitor Center theater.

12 pm - Bagpipe Performance by the Wilmington Police Pipes and Drums in the park amphitheater near the visitor center.

1 pm - Catherine Fort, President of the Scottish Society of Wilmington will be presenting on the work that has been done on the Cape Fear Immigration Memorial that will be placed at Brunswicktown/Fort Anderson State Historic Site in November. This program will take place in the visitor center theater.

2 pm - 12 pm - Bagpipe Performance by the Wilmington Police Pipes and Drums in the park amphitheater near the visitor center.
