Morning: Royal Beginnings
Saptami Puja Begins
Offerings, chanting of mantras, and shringar of the deity in her divine form.
Durga Ashtami Puja
A full ritualistic worship of Goddess Durga with 16 upacharas (items of worship).
Includes offerings of:
Fruits, sweets, flower
Chandi Path (recitation of verses from the Devi Mahatmya)
Aarti and Bhog (food offering)
Kumari Puja (Worship of the Living Goddess)
A pre-pubescent girl is worshipped as a living embodiment of Goddess Durga.
She is bathed, dressed in traditional attire (usually red), adorned with flowers, and seated on a pedestal.
Rituals include washing her feet, offering her food, flowers, and performing aarti.
It’s a symbolic recognition of the divine feminine power in every girl.


1pm - 2pm Pushpanjali & Bhog Arpana
Devotees offer flowers in reverence and receive blessings.

Sandhi Puja (Twilight Ritual between Ashtami and Navami)(Indoor Area)
Occurs at the juncture (Sandhikhan) of Ashtami and Navami tithi (typically around 48 minutes).
This is believed to be the moment when Goddess Durga transformed into Chamunda to slay the demons Chanda and Munda.
Key features of Sandhi Puja:
Lighting of 108 lamps (pradeep)
Offering of 108 lotus flowers
Bali (sacrifice) ritual (symbolic nowadays—usually pumpkin, banana, or sugarcane is used)
Deep silence and reverence during the puja – extremely powerful and intense.

Nabami Pujo Rituals – Day of Power
1. Maha Navami Puja
Nabami marks the culmination of Durga’s battle against evil and the celebration of her supreme power.
Rituals are grand and powerful, similar to Ashtami but with deeper intensity.
The Maha Aarti is performed with devotion, conch shells, bells, and dhak beats.
Traditional offerings include bhog, fruits, sweets, flowers, and sacred chants from the Devi Mahatmya.
2. Pushpanjali (Morning Floral Offering)
Devotees gather again to offer flowers and chant prayers.
The mantra is often shared by the priest or led communally.
3. Maha Bhog Offering & Distribution
A special meal is prepared for Maa Durga, often including:
Luchi, khichuri, labra (vegetable mix), payesh, chutney, and sweets.
Distributed to all attendees as prasad after the puja.
4. Dhunuchi Naach & Sandhya Aarti (Evening)
Traditional Dhunuchi dance—devotees dance holding incense burners in a display of rhythmic devotion.
Evening aarti fills the space with light, sound, and fragrance, creating a divine atmosphere.

Dashami Pujo Rituals – Day of Farewell
Date: Monday, September 29, 2025 (Morning & Afternoon)
1. Sindoor Khela (DeviDarbar Sindur Utsav)
Married women apply sindoor (vermilion powder) to Maa Durga and to one another in a joyful ceremony.
It symbolizes strength, prosperity, sisterhood, and the victory of good over evil.
Traditionally accompanied by sweets, smiles, and blessings for long, healthy marriages.
2. Aparajita Puja & Devi Boron
A short ritual performed by women to bid farewell to Maa Durga.
The goddess is offered sweets, betel leaves, sindoor, and mirror in a symbolic goodbye.
3. Visarjan / Immersion Ritual (Symbolic or Actual)
The idol is prepared for immersion (actual or symbolic, depending on venue).
Procession includes dhak, dancing, and tearful chants of "Asche Bochor Abar Hobe" (She will return next year!).
4. Shanti Jal
Sacred water from the puja is sprinkled over devotees as a final blessing for peace, health, and protection.
5. Vijaya Sammilani (Community Celebration)
Families greet each other with sweets, hugs, and Vijaya greetings.
Often includes:
Cultural performances
Open stage singing/dancing
Shared meals to end the puja on a warm, festive note.
