Jimmy Mac – Artist Biography
Jimmy doesn’t just perform soul music—he lives it. Raised in a house where the record player never stopped spinning and tea was brewed to the sound of Tamla Motown, James is the son of George McCallister, a founding member of 60s chart-toppers The Fortunes. While his dad was off sharing stages with pop royalty, young Jimmy was getting a crash course in Northern Soul, Motown magic, and how to dress sharp and dance ‘til dawn.
Now he’s bringing it all back—with bells on. James’s shows are a full-blown love letter to the golden era of Wigan Casino, Blackpool Mecca, and the backstreet clubs where broken hearts and fast feet ruled the night. Expect stompin’ floor-fillers, velvet vocals, and more than a few cheeky nods to the glory days of 60s soul.
Think Marvin Gaye meets a northern working men’s club on a Friday night—with a proper suit, polished shoes, and moves to match.
Jimmy Mac: keeping the flame of Northern Soul and Motown alive, and making sure it has a damn good time doing it.
