An iconic Canadian troubadour, playwright, story teller and socially minded activist, has a distinctive Canadiana style reminiscent of the North American folk heroes who have been instrumental in bringing about positive change, and making a mark in history through their evocative story-telling.
With legendary songs like Frobisher Bay and Wild Wind Blows, this seasoned singer-songwriter from Guelph Ontario stirs emotions as much as he stirs up political dirt with his serious and comedic songs. It is evident James has played thousands of shows in his extensive career, as he immediately reaches out and lassos his audience with his wit and warmth.
Frobisher Bay
Wild Wind Blows
He's not everybody's favourite sh#t disturber though; during the pandemic his song, "Crybabies' Caravan" got him into some serious trouble...

"As someone who’s written hundreds of songs on a variety of topics and issues, you’d think James has done and seen it all. But even he was surprised by the reaction from some people to his song “Crybabies Caravan,” which became a viral hit. The song addressed Canada’s anti-vaccine, anti-mask trucker convoys, otherwise known as the “Freedom Convoy.” Besides the nearly more than 300,000 listens, he also received hate mail and death threats."
