Lake Rousseau Dam & Recreational Area

Join Citrus County Parks and Recreation for an exciting Birding with Parks experience led by Florida Naturalist and Recreation Program Specialist Alice Mary Herden. Participants will explore the unique and diverse habitats of various locations, embarking on guided nature walks to observe and learn about the fascinating array of bird species that inhabit these areas.

About the Location:
Lake Rousseau Dam & Recreational Area is situated in Crystal River. During this birding adventure, we will observe a variety of bird species around Lake Rousseau and along the Withlacoochee River. The walk will be in full sun, so it is recommended to bring sunscreen and a hat. Most of the walk will take place on paved areas, and there are porta-potties available at this location. Participants should come prepared with water, snacks, bug spray, and other essential items to ensure a comfortable outdoor experience.
