The Mad City Jug Band, America's Most Adequate Jug Band!
How adequate? Really, really adequate. We are so adequate that we have been a finalist in the Madison, WI Area Music Awards for Unique Performers! Not only that, but our CD: SAVE ME SOME was a finalist for the Unique Album award!
We play classic jug band music from the 1920s and 1930s, and hits made popular during the 1960s jug band revival by musicians like the Grateful Dead, the Lovin' Spoonful and the Jim Kweskin Jug Band. Throw in some period tunes from early 1900s and you got it.
Jug Band music is loved by people of all ages. kids love to dance to it and adults can even be seen doing the Charleston! The Mad City Jug Band is a hoot and is sure to make you smile, dance and clap your hands.
