True Crime Book Signing w/ Retired Criminologist

Join us at The Reading Rabbit Bookshop in Azle, Texas on Saturday, October 11th, 2025, from 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. for a special evening with local author and retired criminologist Kelli Tomlinson Martin.

Martin’s life was forever changed in the 1980s when a series of tragic murders struck her hometown, including the loss of two of her former classmates. These events inspired her to dedicate her life to the field of criminal justice. Over the course of her career, Martin served as a professor at Texas Christian University for 10 years, led the Sex Crimes Unit for Tarrant County Adult Probation, was a search and seizure team leader, and directed the Training Academy for new officers.

Her work brought her close to victims’ families. The victims' family members were involved in this process and approved of their loved ones' chapter, and were afforded the opportunity to contribute to the book. Due to Martin's experiences a scholar and professor, she knew how important it was to give the victims' families a voice-voices that have not been heard in decades!
