Crich Tramway village in Derbyshire is believed to be very haunted, with several spooky stories and ghostly encounters reported over the years.
With so many different artefacts and relocated buildings from different eras, given its status as a historic site with vintage trams, cobbled streets and buildings, it is no surprise that paranormal activity has been reported in and around the village.
So, what and who has actually been seen.
The Mysterious Child – Reports of the ghostly laughter of a child have been heard through the village when no children are present. Some visiting guests and staff have even claimed to see a shadowy figure of a young child running between the vintage trams and disappearing into thin air.
Victorian lady – A regular sighting is of an apparition of a Victorian Lady, often seen near the construction buildings and more so when the public has gone home.
She has been seen walking casually along the cobble street, so clear that staff have described her wearing period clothing, including a bonnet and long dress.
Theres more! – Let’s not forget the location of the depot, tram sheds and the exhibition halls!
With sudden temperature drops and the feeling of being watched, the staff refused to enter these areas at a particular time of the day. Could it be the tram driver seen inspecting the vintage trams or the figure of the conductor in full uniform but then vanishes into thin air?
