Explore color and creativity through paper folding!
In this hands-on papercraft program, award-winning artist, author and illustrator Linda Stephen will share step by step how to fold papers to make easy origami flowers, butterflies and baskets for greeting cards or gifts. This workshop is designed for beginners of any age. Children should be accompanied by an adult. If you can fold a piece of paper neatly in half, you have the basic paper folding skills needed. Materials provided.
Linda is the featured artist for the Blue River Arts Council in May and June. See her origami landscapes and picture book illustrations in the Crete Public Library from May 3-June 28 in the exhibit "Origami Illustrations."
About the instructor: A teaching artist with the Nebraska Arts Council, Linda Stephen has taught origami to thousands of people ages 3 to 97. Her art is part of public and private collections around the world. See her origami art landscapes at the Crete Public Library in May and June including illustrations in the award-winning picture book The Day We Went to the Park, available at Crete Public Library, local libraries, or wherever books are sold.
