THE TOPIC
Stabilizing recognition of the nature of mind is part of the mahamudra series of teachings passed down from the 12th century master Gampopa. After gaining recognition of the mind’s nature, Gampopa teaches how to stabilize that nature. “First, your experience is different within meditation and outside of meditation. Second, the meditative mind is present both while meditating and after meditating. Third, meditation and postmeditation are inseparable.” —Ringu Tulku Rinpoche, from Confusion Arises as Wisdom
The foundation for this process is devotion – devotion as inspiration, devotion as aspiration, devotion as certainty, and finally irreversible devotion. Rinpoche to give a commentary on how to practice these stages of ground, path, and result Mahamudra.
