In this practical workshop, learn the skills of collecting and storing seeds. Seed saving helps preserve heirloom varieties, saves money, and you’ll discover what to grow for your local environment. You’ll also discover other easy ways to grow plants, like using potato pieces or herb cuttings.
Why Seed Saving Matters
Seeds are tiny but powerful – they keep our food system going. However, big farms and companies have made it harder for plants to reproduce naturally. Many food plants can’t easily adapt to new weather conditions anymore, and some are altered to rely on chemicals to grow. This can harm our health and the environment.
By saving and reusing seeds from your own garden, you can:
