Behringer-Crawford Museum is turning 75 and we’re inviting the entire community to the party! While the official 75th anniversary falls on July 5 the real celebration happens on Saturday July 12 from 4-6 p.m. outside the museum with BCM’s Birthday Bash a jam-packed afternoon of family-friendly fun live entertainment hands-on activities and FREE museum admission. Come for the party then stay for the KSO concert at the Band Shell.
Bring the kids (and the kids at heart) and enjoy:
Hillview Farm Animal Experience – Get up close with friendly animals from Hillview Farm including chickens rabbits ducks a bearded dragon and even a mini cow! A perfect chance for kids (and grown-ups!) to learn and interact with these lovable creatures.
Sing-along with the May Festival MiNiS – An interactive vocal experience designed to engage children of all abilities in the joy of music.
Meet “Kentucky” the Owl – A live raptor encounter that’s both wild and educational.
Games Galore! – Try your hand at disc golf or putting from the Devou Park Golf Course then dive into some silly fun fishing for alligators!
75th Birthday Time Capsule Booth – Record your video message to the museum for future generations.
Push Out the Streetcar Kentucky – View a piece of local history as we roll out “Kentucky” the beautifully restored streetcar from BCM’s collection right outside the museum.
Community Partners on Site – Including the Kenton County Public Library Friends of Big Bone Devou Park Trails Devou Park Golf Course Read Ready Covington and the U.S. Playing Card Company celebrating 140 years of Bicycle Cards with a card throwing game and demonstration—each offering fun free activities for the whole family.
And best of all—FREE museum admission during the Bash so you and your family can explore the exhibits and discover the stories that have shaped our region for 75 years.
After the Bash head over to the Devou Park Band Shell for the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra’s “Williams’ Wondrous World” concert a thrilling performance of movie magic featuring the iconic music of John Williams (think Star Wars Indiana Jones Jurassic Park and more!).
