Millburn House
University Of Warwick, Coventry, United Kingdom
Join us on Fri, May 16, 2025 from 13:00-17:00 for an exciting day of learning and exploration at Millburn House. This event is specially designed for home educated children (and their parents/guardians!) to experience the wonders of the universe. Our knowledgeable staff will be on hand to answer any questions and provide insight into the mysteries of space. If this event is successful, look out for a repeat of this event next academic year!
Throughout the day, we will host planetarium sessions tailored to different age groups. Outside of the planetarium sessions, visitors can play with our Astronomy outreach table, which provides a "sandbox universe" where you can create all sorts of astrophysical bodies such as stars, pulsars and black holes! Our volunteers will also be available to answer questions outside of the sessions, and we have also asked some of the staff to pop by to give a chance for parents and children to talk to them.
Each show will last for approximately 40 minutes. During the show, our experts will take you on a tour of the night sky, specifically tailored to the age of your children. There will also be time for questions and to chat our experts after each show.
For each Key Stage/age group, there will be a separate show. See the agenda below. Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of your allocated show (check your ticket for show time)! There will be a lobby for you to wait in before your show.
NOTE: Each ticket is for one person only. That means if you are a parent/guardian, in addition to the ticket(s) for your child/children, you would also have to buy a ticket for yourself if you would like to attend the show.
NOTE: The agenda below may be subject to change based on demand for each show. You will be notified if the agenda changes.
