Winemaking Workshop!
Last month's class went so well we decided to do it again! Join Tom O'Brien, Owner and Founder of Gardens on Glen, as he demonstrates and walks you through each step of the small-batch fruit wine-making process to help you get your first batch started! You will enjoy complimentary samples while getting hands-on experience starting, re-racking, and even bottling wine. Together, we will review several wine recipes ranging from simple to more complex while Tom answers questions and provides great insights from his experiences perfecting his wine-making technique. There are two kinds of tickets: 1) "All-in" which includes the full experience and a take-home kit and 2) "Just the Class" which includes the full experience without a take-home kit making this class a great shareable experience for couples and friends. What you'll learn: The class covers the step-by-step process of making small-batch fruit wine, from starting and re-racking to bottling. You'll also review various wine recipes and gain insights from Tom's experience.

Fruits for wine: Common fruits used for wine include grapes (traditionally) but also apple, pineapple, peach, plum, blackberry, blueberry, kiwi, and cherry.
Winemaking Process:
Preparation: Sanitize equipment and prepare the fruit. You'll need equipment like fermenters, a straining bag, airlock, and bottles.
Primary Fermentation: Yeast converts sugar to alcohol in a primary fermenter, typically a bucket, for 1-3 weeks.
Secondary Fermentation (Aging): Wine is transferred to a secondary fermenter, such as a carboy, for further clearing and aging. This can take weeks to months.
Bottling and Aging: The wine is bottled and can be aged further for improved flavor. Some fruit wines are best aged for at least 30 days or even 6-12 months.
