Small & Independent Museums in Malta - Challenges and Opportunities

ICOM Malta invites you to join us for an important seminar dedicated to small and independent museums — exploring the challenges they face and the opportunities ahead.

This event will bring together museum professionals, cultural stakeholders, and experts to explore the unique challenges faced by small and independent museums, while also highlighting new opportunities for growth, innovation, and collaboration.

The seminar will feature a series of expert presentations followed by engaging panel discussions focusing on key themes such as conservation and collection management, safeguarding cultural narratives, financial sustainability, digital presence and museum promotion, innovation, and environmental responsibility. Panel sessions will specifically address Historic House Museums, Independent and NGO-operated Museums, and Ecclesiastical Museums.
