The Mountain: A poetry open mic featuring Gary Lark

On Friday June 6 at 7:30pm, Poetics Corvallis presents a poetry open mic featuring Oregon poet Gary Lark, author of eleven books and chapbooks. His most recent book, "Coming Down the Mountain", has been praised as going "deep into the soil, rivers, and people, examining past and present with the steady eye of someone who loves this place and also keenly understands that our time here is fragile and finite.”

We will start with Gary's poetry at 7:30pm, with poetry Open Mic to follow. Open Mic signup starts at 7:15pm. Come share poems or poetic prose that you like, by you or by another, on any topic, at our friendly free open mic in the artsy ambience of the Interzone Cafe. Or come to just listen, and let poetry dissolve, at least for a moment, the walls between us all.

His other recent collections include "Easter Creek" and "Daybreak on the Water". About his work, Gary says,“I have a desire to feel the resonance of words coalescing in an endless consciousness."
