On Friday Dec 5 at 7:30pm, Poetics Corvallis presents a poetry open mic featuring our own Hannah Elizabeth King, a poet who lives, and writes, in Corvallis, Oregon. An enthusiast for lyrical living in the lowlands and rivers of the valley, she is devoted to freeing the “dammed up” places where nature’s expression can flow. Her new book, Be Like Water (2025), speaks to the awakening of intimacy from within and how this love carries us. Her debut book of poetry, We Are Wanderers (2023), is a ten-year memoir in verse exploring belonging and connection.
We will start with Hannah's poetry at 7:30pm, with poetry Open Mic to follow. Open Mic signup starts at 7:15pm. Come share poems or poetic prose that you like, by you or by another, on any topic, at our friendly free open mic in the artsy ambience of the Interzone Cafe. Or come to just listen, and let poetry dissolve, at least for a moment, the walls between us all.
