Let's Sketch the Newport Beach Civic Center and Sculpture Park
MEET: Thursday, September 23, 10:00 am, at the flagpole located between the Civic Center Building/parking lot and the South end of the Sculpture Park.

RECONVENE: 12:30 p.m. We’ll gather for a sketchbook throwdown, introductions and group pictures. (Location to be determined the day of the event)

Parking is free at the Civic Center, 100 Civic Center Drive, Newport Beach, CA 92660.
Civic Center Sculpture Park: Explore the 14-acre Civic Center Park with its 1.23 mile walking trail that makes its way along a natural wetlands area and an exhibit of numerous sculptures including Bunnyhenge. The park area includes two parcels of land joined together by a bridge, which offers a stunning view of the city and the Pacific Ocean beyond.
The Civic Center: Designed by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson (BCJ), the architecture is inspired by the city's beachside Southern California roots and includes many subtle nautical references. BCJ thoughtfully designed numerous outdoor spaces so residents can enjoy the year-round sunny climate
All are welcome whether beginner or seasoned pro. Bring your favorite sketching media, an easel if desired (up to you) and maybe a folding chair or stool if you need to sit. If you’re new to sketching, your equipment can be as simple as a pencil and a sketchbook!
